We Need YOU to Help Us Empower Youth Leadership!

Now that the 2023 Daniel Barden Mudfest is an amazing memory, you might think we’re ready to rest. But, Mudfest is only the beginning for us! Each year, the proceeds from Mudfest are used to send kids on the adventure of a lifetime. Eighth grade students in both central New York and Connecticut are given the opportunity to apply for the Barden Adventure Scholarship.

Chosen students then participate in the Barden Adventure, which is coordinated by the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, NY. For 8 weeks, the students spend time learning valuable leadership and life skills, all while hiking, canoeing, and camping in the Adirondack Mountains. They’re unplugged from technology, allowing them to tune into themselves, their fellow Adventurers, and nature.

But this year, we need a little extra help.

As always, we’re so grateful for our Mudfest participants. But unfortunately, with rising costs all around, the cost per student has increased dramatically, leaving us with a shortfall of about $5,500. Part of the Barden Adventure is empowering our 16 student participants to donate to charities of their choice. While we’ll make sure the trip happens for the chosen students, we would greatly appreciate any additional donation from you to help defray costs and allow students to donate to their chosen charities – and that means your donation will have double the impact.  Either way, all proceeds will go directly to the Barden Adventure Scholarship – and to some very deserving kids! Thank you so much for helping us empower the leaders of tomorrow!
